Spyware Removal
For Windows Vista
There are some special methods, particular to Windows Vista,
which can be used to banish Spyware. Included within Vista, is
an application called Windows Defender, which is meant to make
the removal of malicious programs easier. It is a useful tool
for spyware removal.
First, click the Start button and then go to the Control Panel.
Within here, you will see a button for Programs. Once you click
this, select Programs and Features, which will allow you to
look over all the programs installed on the computer. There is
the option to uninstall any given program and some will allow
the option of repairing or changing
them.
It is a good idea to uninstall the programs here that you do
not use. This will boost the efficiency of the system and help
spyware removal. Obviously, remove any programs in the list,
which are spyware.
Windows Vista comes with a program called Windows Defender.
This can be used to locate spyware left on the system. Use the
program to scan for malicious applications. If there are still
concerns after this, there are some good free programs you can
download to scan the drive for bad programs and files. Spybot
Search and Destroy and C-Cleaner are popular choices. A commmon
method is to download both, run C-Cleaner then Spybot. More
comprehensive applications, like Registry Easy, also offer free
scans. You can't go wrong with these for complete spyware
removal.
Once your drives are clean, you may want to keep them that way.
If you put your internet through a router, it usually provides
a strong firewall. Virus protection and spyware protection

If you have virus protection software and you are happy with
it, you might want to get spyware protection from the same
source. Some people try to permanently prevent malicious
software from their computer, others think they get better
performance without all the protection and simply scan for
viruses and spyware on a regular
basis.
